The English language is full of rich verbiage that rarely gets used, unfortunately. Here are just five:
1. Armsaye: Name for the armhole in clothing.
2. Feat: A dangling curl of hair.
3. Harp: The small metal hoop that supports a lampshade.
4. Jarns, Nittles, Grawlix, and Quimp: These are all words used to describe the various squiggles and nonsensical letters that denote cussing in comics.
5. Liripipe: The long tail on a graduate's academic hood.
